Reception. Arrival in Chengdu
Accomodation: hotel.
|
|
|
Pick you up at the airport. After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll have a city tour and then dinner at a local restaurant.

Chengdu is the economic, financial and cultural center in southwest China, known for its delicious cuisines. Like hotpot, Kunp Pao Chicken, Shui Zhu Beef, Ma Po Toufu, etc.

Chengdu—Tsetang
Accomodation in hotel

|
From the Chengdu airport, we fly to Lhasa, and then transfer to Tsetang. Both lunch and dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant. This afternoon, we’ll visit nunnery of Tsetang.

Tsetang

|
In the morning we’ll go to Dranang County and visit Mindroling. Then we’ll visit Yumbulakang and Tandruk.

Note
|
Built in the 17th century, Mindroling monastery is one of the main pilgrims’ destination for Kagyupa believers.
Yumbulakhang is the oldest-known dwelling in Tibet and the original Yumbulakhang would have been over 2000 years old.
Tandruk Monastery, also know as the Pearl Monastery is one of the famous monasteries in Tibet. It’s said that the monastery was constructed by the order of Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century.

Tsetang—Samye—Tsetang

We’ll go to Samye by boat and back to Tsetang by bus. We have lunch box and dinner in the hotel

Tsetang—Gyantse

Starting from Tsetang and by the way of Yamdrok lake, we’ll arrive at Gyantse.

We’ll visit the Palkhor Chode and Gyantse Dzong( Tibetan traditional village).

Gyantse—Shalu—Shigatse
|
|
|
After visiting Shalu monastery, we’ll head for Shigatse. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Tashilumpo and market in Shigatse.

Tashilumpo is the largest monastery in Shigatse, known as one of the “Four Major Monastery” of the Gelu sect of the Tibetan .

Shigatse—Pintsoling—Sakya

We’ll visit Pintsoling Gompa in Pintsoling area and then transfer to Sakya.

Sakya—Shigatse

We’ll start by visiting Sakya Gompa then head for Shigatse via “main way”.

Sakya Gompa is the principal monastery of the sect of Sakya of Tibetan Buddhism.

Shigatse—Lhasa

After visiting Tashilumpo Gompa, we’ll on our way to the great city—Lhasa.

We’ll visit Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Monastery, Sera Monastery, Norbulinka and Lhasa museum.

Note
|
The Potala Palace is the highest palace in the world, with the altitude of 3767.19 meters. The 13-storyied palace stands 117.19 meters high, with about 1000 rooms.
Drepung Monastery, meaning ‘monastery of collecting-rice’, is known as the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism.
Jokhang Temple is on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List, located in central Lhasa.
Sera is one of the principal monastery of the Gelu sect of Tibetan Buddihism.
Norbulinka, meaning ‘Treasure Park’ in Tibetan, was the summer palace for Dalai lama

With 57km to cover from Lhasa, we’ll come to Ganden Gompa.

Ganden Gompa is located on the Mt. Wangbur with the altitude of 3800m.
